“The Road goes on forever” – Gregg Allman

Mason Clay ~ Lead Vocals ~ Acoustic Guitar

Mason Clay was born in Chicago. Through the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Mason was the lead singer of the band “Roadhouse, whose original music gained a dedicated following in Chicago & the Midwest. It is well known amongst his fans throughout his many years as a top-tier vocalist in many successful acts that he “looks and sounds exactly like Gregg Allman.” When first approached by Midnight Rider to help form an Allman Brothers Band tribute, he rolled up his sleeve and revealed a tattoo of the Allman Brothers Band logo on his arm. The rest is history.

Hawkeye ~ Drums ~ Percussion

Christopher “Hawkeye” Mizyk is a believer in the power of music. A Chicago-born and raised, formally schooled percussionist, he spent most of his youth traveling and honing his drumming skills for the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Willie Nelson, and Jerry Lewis. He was also Buddy Rich’s trusted drum tech. Night after night, he sat watching and learning from one of the best to ever rule a drum kit.

The Professor ~ Bass ~ Musical Director

THE PROFESSOR – Jeff “The Professor” Bachemin first came to Chicagoland to complete his music degree at North Central College after attending the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He then migrated to Los Angeles with his band “Mad Anthony” upon their signing with A&M Records. During his time in LA, he also toured as a member of national acts such as The Billy Preston Band, The Association, and Lowell George of Little Feat. During his career, he has also worked with artists such as George Benson, B.B. King, Steve Morse, and Butch Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band to name a few.

Scott Bachemin ~ Guitar

Scott has been recording regularly in studios such as Capitol Studios (LA), Paramount (LA), Westlake Audio (LA), Village Studios (LA), Transcontinental (Orlando), Eric Schilling’s studio (Orlando), Chung King Studios (NYC), Daddy’s House (NYC) Quad (NYC), Premier (NYC), Avatar (NYC), The Magic Shop (NYC), Hit Factory (Miami), and Studio at the Palms (Las Vegas). Scott has worked with Tilky Jones (Nashville TV Show, Take 5 band member, actor – Guardian movie with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher) over the years in many recording and live situations. Scott was a part of the Orlando music recording scene with boy bands such as Take 5 who were under management of Lou Perlman (manager for ‘N Sync). Scott got his start working out of Grammy and Emmy award-winning Eric Schilling’s studio in Orlando at the age of 18. Eric Schilling has worked with the likes of Shakira, Frank Sinatra, Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias, and Rod Stewart. A highlight in Scott’s career was putting on a private performance for an intimate audience that Tony Bennett personally attended and appeared on stage. Recently Scott performed with Demi Lovato’s guitarist at the U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, and has been closely working with Rebekah White (songwriter working with Sean Kingston and Ashley Argota from Nickelodeon) for several years, including work in the studio of Printz Board (Black Eyed Peas). Additionally, Scott has worked on multiple occasions with Aubrey Flynn, who works closely with P. Diddy.

Voja ~ Guitar ~ Harmonica ~ Vocals

From the sounds of JJ Cale, Peter Green, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck to the Sweet perfection of James Taylor, Voja’s diverse set of influences have brought him acclaim as one of Chicago’s finest. Born and raised in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, Voja brings an exciting twist to the music. His natural blues abilities made him a natural fit for Midnight Rider.

Juddzey ~ Hammond Organ ~ Sax ~ Vocals

Frank “Juddzey” Judd began his music studies at the famous Old Town School of Music while still in kindergarten, during which time his father taught him music theory on a plectrum banjo. He has since been a featured Hammond organist and sax player with many well-known acts around the midwest. As one of the co-founders of Midnight Rider, Juddzey has found a home that allows him to showcase his extraordinary skills.

Jimmi Perrino~ Piano and Keytar

Jimmi Perrino is known far and wide as one of Chicago’s premier pianists. Back in the day, when working with Chuck Berry’s group, Chuck said of Jimmi, “Man can that boy play the blues.” He and the professor first met while playing together in the popular Chicago-based SRV tribute Texas Flood. Jimmi is an indispensable talent on the ivories. But when he picks up his keytar and steps to the front of the stage, it’s GO time.

Ron “Dr. Sweat” Anderson – Percussion – Vocals

Since the age of six, music has been a passion for the good doctor. He has been playing with bands in and around the Chicago area since he was 12 years old. His list of professional credits includes The Captain and Tennille, Lou Rawls, Ramsey Lewis as well as a two-week tour of the Australian Coast with Sine … The Band to support the 2000 Olympic Torch Ceremonies. Dr. Sweat has vast experience as a multi-genre musician has found him in professional situations as diverse as the city of Chicago, which he calls home. As a talented percussionist and entertainer, Dr. Sweat brings the depth required to give the audience the true Allman Brothers musical experience.

Mike Lerner – Drums- Vocals

Mike’s musical career started at a very early age. By age 5 he was playing guitar. By age 10 he was playing in a Rock and Roll band. By age 15 he had switched to drums and was playing in a “New Wave” jazz ensemble doing everything from Charlie Parker to AACM free form jazz. By age 20 he was a part of The Eddie Boy Band on the MCA label. They were very similar to the Allman Brothers with dual guitarists and dual drummers along with keys and bass. The band toured with everyone from the Beach Boys to The Mahavishnu Orchestra and many other national and international acts too numerous to mention. By 1975, Mike was living in Los Angeles as a session musician, working with the likes of members of the Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, Jaco Pastorius, and Joe Zawinul to name a few as well as live situations with Chuck Berry and Tanya Tucker. During that time he was Al Stewart’s drummer on the Merv Griffin Show but had to refuse a permanent position in Al’s band because his band was in the middle of completing an album under contract. Before returning to his hometown of Chicago, Mike spent 3 years in his wife’s homeland of Ireland performing with several major Celtic Rock bands. Upon his return, Mike has worked and toured with many acts out of Chicago, including Street Corner Blue, a popular Chicago area horn band where he was not only the drummer but the lead singer as well. An interesting footnote is that after working with “The Professor” on and off for over 20 years in various situations, they discovered that they were born on the same day, in the same year and lived and worked as session musicians for major record labels in Los Angeles during the same time period.
